I believe this is Doug Stanhope's first widely released CD, it's not the polished works that his later CD's are, but well worth a listen. For fans new to Stanhope, I'd recommend Sicko & Something to Take the Edge Off as they're a bit more polished and much cheaper. I paid $50 for my copy of The Great White Stanhope /5(8).

Doug Stanhope does not care if you like him. Therein lies the strength of his act. We caught his set in London a few years ago, and while the audience was mostly compliant, at least 40% of the audience gave off an openly hostile vibe to his material.
